@Richpers89 because the more you practice one basic swing in tournament play the better you will become at it. consistency is key, im sure you know that, but all the greats certainly do
very good for amateurs, but i find if you play competitively, its very helpful to have a go-to-shot or some sort of little punch swing to help you get past the nerves. Plus if you hit a few bad ones in a row with the ‘one basic swing’ and your confidence drops…were do you go from there? You need something to get you through the rest of the round. No disrespect to jack tho..he is the greatest.
I like the way Jack could launch those 1 irons, now that takes some tremendous talent.

Great tip. But lay off the reverse C. That will kill your back just like it killed Jack’s.
amen to that man, I’m trying my hardest to emulate his swing because its so basic and easy to get my head around… and because its Jack-friggin-Nicklaus teaching so it must be good advice

Jack’s “Golf my Way” is the best instructional book I’ve ever seen. It has strips of photos for all of the clubs and shots. Unfortunately, I don’t have Jack’s talent!
I like how he kkeps it basic…so many pros make it to complex for amatuers to grasp.
This is by far the best golf instructional video made. It covers everything including course management and the mental side of the game. I watched the video so many times I even had Jack’s asides and after shot comments memorized. I was breaking 80 in no time using his method.
He really has a way of statistically and logically breaking things down to maximize efficiency. Neat.
He seems to make things so simple for himself. Of course though it all will seem pretty simple when you’re that good.
