Here is all you ever need to concern yourself with in regard to this issue:

Hold the club as you normally do at address. Without lifting or bending your arms, simply raise the club head using the wrists. Raise the club head as far as it will go.

This is the exact motion your hands/wrists make during the full swing.

    Nothing more, nothing less.

In defense of this fellow. This is a good demonstrating of proper wrist action during the swing. Maybe the terms are a bit confusing. Some people describe hinging as “cocking” which is clear what he is doing on this video. Others use the term “cocking” synomomous with bowing and cupping the wrist. Which I agree is a complete different action of the wrist.

    This is brutal.

I know he means well but there is a night and day difference between “hinging” and “cocking” the wrists.

Anyone that tries to actually “cock” their wrists will struggle forever.

Once you learn to “hinge” your right wrist during the swing correctly, you will prosper.

Avoid any instructor that does not know the difference between “cocking” and “hinging.” They are two totally different movements.
