    Sorry I missed your video dano11000; the best video to answer this question is the “golf pro lesson downswing weightshift” video; you will know what I mean when you see it; you are almost correct as 70% of your weight does get through the right side but the top of the backswing needs to be defined for you; Shawn

    how much wieght should be on right heel at top off backswing 70 per cent ?

    Hi Shawn

    This is a great tip, thanks.

    It tried it out at the range today, and felt it definitely helped with my rhythm, and making a fuller backswing than i ordinarily would.

    If you (or anyone else) has time i’d really appreciate some feedback on my video from range today.

    Thanks!

    Very Good! Now you are on the right track!

    Hi Shawn, I’m a 4hcp, but I struggle to reach a “better level” in ball striking and consistency..
    I have a strong feel that my problem really is the start of my backswing, that doesn’t allow me to be natural and fluid.
    I feel like I’m just putting the club on a sequence of static positions…

    After watching this video I really understood the importance of being fluid and letting the phisics to help me.
    Now I need to practice with one goal: putting the statics out of the equation.

    Thank you.

    Thanks Shawn. Your tips have helped me out alot

    I was probably hitting into a different angle on the net; there is a mural of the 7th hole at Pebble back there and I always send my momentum towards different targets…:) The camera can sometimes fool a bit too; Shawn

    Shawn,
    Great tip.
    Why were you playing the bal so forward in your stance…the club was not in the centre of your stance as you generally recommend for irons.

  10. clemshaw says:

    Just make sure that your focus is always on the target when over the ball; see “golf pro lesson eye ball”; Shawn

    I’m having a couple of problems and thats hitting further than normal on my 7-pw.

    the other is lack of concentration with my 8 iron. I don’t know why but I got to use it twice and both times I totally shanked it right. very frustrating because somewhere I totally lost concentration in that split second of coming down on the ball..

    good training though from you has helped my distance and ease of hit. now I just have to guage my distance better with the new swing techs

    Hey Hank; Get me some video footage pronto! I will have a look and get back to you with a plan; send me a you tube link and respond to my regular email from my website OK?

    Shawn,
    Thanks I will be checking those videos. Also, I already ordered your DVDs, and soon I will post my swing for you to analize it . I will let you know.

    Hey Alex;
    You can use this video in conjunction with the “tilted spiral” part 1, 2 and 3 series; the key here is to make sure you do not shift your centers in the swing and that it is only the weight that shifts as a result of a very centered turn; see “golf Pro lesson proper weight shift” too to understand;
    Shawn

  17. chatova says:

    Shawn,
    Congratulations for all your work. It has helped me a lot. Just one question: I was practicing this drill in the range and a scratch golfer told me I was balancing and shifting my body. Any comments about it?
    Thanks
    Alex

  18. clemshaw says:

    Great comment; Thanks!
    Just make sure that she stays very centered when performing this; see “Golf Pro Lesson Downswing weightshift” and “Golf Pro lesson 2008 Golf Swing Review” part 1 and 2;
    I have found that some of my students loose their centers when they overdo this swing or try too hard with it;

    My wife was struggling the other day on the course. I suggested she start with her right heal up, right knee kicked in a little then plan the right heal to start the takeaway etc. WOW!!! She flew the green on a 120yd par 3 with her 6 iron which she normally only hits 100yrds total distance. Great video. Thank you.

  20. KxWaYnE says:

    Yeah today actually, I still think I’m coming in to out which I’ve been doing for years so it’s not too easy for me to fix, I also think I’m sliding my hips which makes my weight feel like I’m falling back sometimes. I still don’t know what makes me hit some shots so badly to the left but yeah I’ve been doing those swings, maybe it’ll just take more balls…

  21. clemshaw says:

    Have you been hitting balls with the feet together drill and the one leg swing?

  22. KxWaYnE says:

    I think I am hitting the ball much more pure that I have been. However, I still pull/hook or pull/powerdraw every single draw. Lower the club, the more it goes left. I can’t fix it and it made me shoot the highest I’ve shot in a long time because I couldn’t control how far left it would go.. This game’s either impossible or easy, so far impossible :D

  23. KxWaYnE says:

    Wow… you have no idea how much I appreciate your time.. Whenever I get online to look at tips, you are the only person I will watch, you make it look easy and I’d love to see you competing somewhere :D You definitely have the game and I’m looking forward to playing with your tips in mind.. Thanks, Adam.

  24. clemshaw says:

    Dude!
    You need to start with some tilt and you look a bit too tall over the ball which causes you to have to bring the chest forward to get some ground leverage; you can also see that you are not braced against the left side as your left foot is spinning out from lack of pressure; the best videos to go after are the “golf pro lesson tilted spiral” part 1,2 and 3 as well as the “one leg swing no weightshift” drill; Shawn

  25. KxWaYnE says:

    Hey Shawn…. You’ve fixed my shanks and now my old problem is returning. I hit huge hooks, sometimes pull hooks… I have uploaded a video on my page and it’d be MUCH appreciated if you could take a minute out of your time to give me your quick analysis :) Thanks and your help has been much appreciated.
