Golf a major industry with a positive impact on Americas economic, environmental and social agendas remains misunderstood by too many of our nations policymakers. Despite the fact that there are more than 10000 public golf facilities in the US, that 2 million American jobs are tied to the golf industry, and that golf courses are a land use thats compatible with the natural environment, golf has been unable to shed its elitist image. There is a longstanding perception of the game which simply does not square with the facts.
